I write a lot and accompany a majority of written content with my own images.
This is the secret sauce to a happy life as a digital content creator.
Find out the best ways to showcase your USP in the digital space:
A self-hosted WordPress blog
The number one reason to maintain a blog on a self-hosted WordPress website is not for SEO although practising SEO on your website will help you to find people who are looking for what you’re offering.
Nope, its to maintain control of your own digital presence and content.
No algorithms, no hashtags, stories or bans.
A self-hosted WordPress blog is your equivalent of your own social media platform where your audience gets to see and hear you the way you want to be seen and heard.
A free and paid Substack newsletter
Comes an extremely close second to a self-hosted WordPress blog.
Substack is superior to WoerdPress in one significant way: ease of use.
There is simply no tech headaches to deal with when you’re publishing on Substack, plus the transition to a paid newsletter is even easier.
The only downside to Substack is where you can own your own domain, content, website on WordPress, Substack (like social media) is someone else’s platform.
That may not matter to you but if you understand the need to be in total control of your digital output then it could be a deal breaker.
An engaging and growing Twitter account
My favourite social media channel because it’s so forgiving and the closest thing to a self hosted WordPress blog.
Everything you can produce on all the other major social platforms combined can be produced as content on Twitter but in a much easier way.
Twitter users expect anything from quick one-line updates to Twitter threads with images and links.
It’s really up to you, but the main thing is to stay consistent and bring value.
